How does your support for Peace Learning Center make a difference?

20,000+ Milwaukee area children have already experienced and grown from the benefits PLC’s Peacemaker’s Workshops

  • Teaches and prepares children to believe in benefits of everyday life nonviolent conflict resolution and healthy, peaceful interactions with others that will last a life time for themselves and to those they passed these valuable lesson on to. This learned behavior encourages students and adults alike to build communities of mutual respect, cooperation, personal accountability and tolerance.
  • PLC Board of directors follows a fiscally-conservative policy which allocates priority funding first to workshops, then to curriculum development and evaluation. Each year PLC works to expand workshop capacity to fill the programming needs of schools and educators in the city and throughout Metropolitan Milwaukee. Receiving support from funders such as you has an immediate impact on our ability to meet the needs and requests of schools and community groups.

Does it really work?

“…I have worked closely with the Peace Learning center for the past three years. Through PLC, I am able to expose my fifth grade students to meaningful conflict resolution, stress reduction, and problem solving techniques. As my students transition into middle school students, this knowledge is invaluable!” – Dana Hubbard (MPS School Counselor)

You show me how to solve problems with my friends. You keep the world peaceful. – 5th grade student (Maryland Avenue Montessori School)

Thank you for teaching me about peace, and how to keep my sanity and learning how to not only hear only one side of the story, I appreciate you! – Antanya, Gaenslen Elementary School
