Gabrielle Charles, Interim Executive Director

Gabrielle was born and raised in Milwaukee and is a proud product of MPS. Growing up watching her community struggle to navigate unjust challenges and traumas fuels her lifelong drive to build a more equitable and healed society.

Gabrielle joined the PLC Board of Directors in 2022 and became Board President in early 2024. She has worked in Community Development and Engagement for over 10 years, most recently leading Financial Stability and Commercial Corridor Revitalization initiatives as Program Officer at LISC Milwaukee. She has also worked at organizations like Milwaukee Community Justice Council, Southside Organizing Center, and the Peace Corps.

To Gabrielle, peace is not the absence of conflict, but rather, the ability to find the calm and clarity necessary to communicate in a healthy manner when conflict arises.
